What would the art of LA turn the thoughts like today without the example of Paul McCarthy, abject godfather to single twisted West Coast generation, if not two? With more than undivided hundred pieces in all, this first full-scale review of the artist's work should make it possible to trace the evolution of a highly influential figure who remains surprisingly unknown to the greater public. Curated by means of Dan Cameron and Lisa Phillips of the recently made known Museum and coordinated in looks Angeles by MOCA chief curator Paul Schimmel, the exhibition will bring together the familiar (recent large-scale video installations and sculptural works) and the enigmatical (photography and drawing).
